Feud nothing new

Dear Editor,

The ongoing feud over numerous issues between Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio is now into its sixth year. Based on past history, this is really nothing new.

Democrats Cuomo and de Blasio have a lot in common with the late Republicans Governor Nelson Rockefeller and Mayor John Lindsay, along with Governor George Pataki and Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

The same is true for the late Democratic Governor Mario Cuomo and Mayor Ed Koch.

Governors have to deal with mayors who want equal billing on the political marquee. This conflicts with governors, who have to worry about all 62 counties making up New York State.

Sincerely,

Larry Penner

Great Neck
