Downtown Brooklyn came alive on Thursday, July 13th, as the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival made its way to the area for the first time. Brooklyn Bodega, producers of the festival, threw the ultimate block party in one of hip-hop’s most iconic spots: Albee Square. Albee Square is best known as the stomping grounds for legendary artists such as the Notorious B.I.G., Talib Kweli and Mos Def. In addition to food from local vendors and a Brooklyn Brewery beer garden, DJ Spinna and DJ Uncle Ralph McDaniels spun hit music and the dance scene erupted.
