We in New York City are so fortunate to have Macy's. They are truly a giving company that appreciates their customers and their home city.
We watched the beautiful fireworks over the Statue of Liberty with our American Flags flying, the feeling of patriotism by all colors and denominations, together being of the same colors - red, white and blue - in our America.
Only in America could we have millions of people gather together with their families to celebrate our country’s birth joyfully and, because of our NYPD, in safety.
We thank Macy’s for their magnanimous gift of the beautiful fireworks, and we thank the New York City Police Department, truly New York’s Finest, for their protection and the fact they put their lives on the line every day for us.
That was so poignantly proven all too sadly with the murder of Officer Miosotis Familia, a beautiful young mother of three that was on duty when she was assassinated by a cop-hating and evil individual.
The sadness is overwhelming, for we in Woodhaven love our police officers and support them all the way. It is just so sad that in addition to protecting us from criminals and terrorists, they are also the target of hateful murderers.
This is why it is important all of us show our appreciation for these fine men and women by thanking them whenever you can and having their backs. Please keep Officer Familia and her family in your prayers. May she rest in peace.
The 70's Project will be performing at Forest Park George Seuffert Bandshell on Thursday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m.
There are positions open for traffic enforcement agents. Call 212-recruit or visit nyc.gov/nypd.
As we put Officer Miosotis Familia to rest, a Police Academy graduation took place and the 102nd Precinct received ten of these new officers.
May God bless our armed forces, may God bless our disabled veterans, may God bless our leaders, and may God bless our brave NYPD officers and police officers everywhere and protect them, and may God bless our great America.
