With Hanukah, which this year starts on Christmas Eve, and Christmas coming up, the holiday spirit is still strong throughout Woodhaven.

You can see the red Santa hats courtesy of the WBID on the young and the young at heart walking merrily while listening to the holiday music on Jamaica Avenue from Dexter Court to 100th Street.

The holiday parade has marched on, and Santa Claus and his friends are no longer taking free pictures at Forest Parkway Plaza in front of the beautiful Christmas tree.

But the brightly lit decorations on our trees glow like diamonds, and the decorations from Woodhaven school children are still up.

All these amenities are brought to you by the Woodhaven Business Improvement District, where your stores and businesses make these activities available to you, our residents and our customers.

The WBID hopes that you enjoy all of these holiday activities, so spend your money on the “Everything Avenue.”

May we, WBID President Mathew Xenakis, the excellent WBID board of directors, the GWDC/WBID staff of Maureen Bermingham, Lisa Komninos, Megan Arfmann, Lina Gao, Krystian Genesla, and myself wish you a merry Christmas and happy, healthy, prosperous and safe New Year.

May God bless our men and women of the armed forces who are bravely protecting our America so far from home so that we may be safe this holiday season.

May God bless the disabled veterans, may God bless the NYPD, and may God bless America, the best country in the world.
