Starting from the left is Councilman Archie Spigner, who was elected to the City Council in 1974 and eventually rose to the rank of deputy majority leader, one of the highest positions in the legislative body at the time.
Next to him is an unidentified woman, followed by Assembly Morton Hillman, who was elected in 1987 and represented northeast Queens. Fun fact: Hillman was an accomplished trumpet player who was a member of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He died in 2014.
Continuing on, we have Councilman Arthur Katzman, who represented Forest Hills from 1962 to 1991, and Assemblyman Saul Weprin, the longtime legislator who died in 1994. His sons Mark and David are still active in politics.
Next to him is a young Claire Shulman, who at the time was Queens borough president, than an unknown person followed by Councilman Morton Povman and the Assemblywoman Vivian Cook, who was elected in 1991 and is still serving today.
Last but not least is Assemblyman Ivan Lafayette, who spent more than 30 years in the Assembly and who just passed away earlier this month.
