As Woodhavenites celebrated another end-of-year holiday season with the lighting of the Forest Park Christmas Tree last Friday, they had something else to sing good cheer to: the Woodhaven Business Improvement District’s Forest Parkway Tree has been named number 4 in New York City’s Top Ten Holiday Trees! by the New York Daily News.

The honor is being shared with the Sunnyside Holiday Tree and it also shares the spotlight with the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, which was named number 1, the Citipond at Bryant Park, which was named number 2, and Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza's tree, which came in at number 7.

"This is a great recognition for our live Woodhaven Tree and the Woodhaven Business Improvement District is very honored by it being chosen # 4 throughout the City of New York," read a statement from the BID.

At the lighting of the Menorah and Christmas Tree at Forest Parkway local elected officials gathered alongside the 102nd Precinct and residents to watch the festivities.
