Michael Gomez, 24 and Selestino Rodriguez, 23, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of
According to Sgt. Jessica McRorie, police executed a search warrant at approximately 5:15 a.m. on February 20 as the result of a narcotics investigation. The search yielded seven ounces of MDMA (commonly known as "molly" on the streets, a form of ecstasy), four ounces of marijuana and $2,438 in cash.
McRorie told this paper that Gomez twice sold drugs to undercover officers outside the business. On one of those occasions, parents were picking their children up from the daycare at the time of the reported drug deal.
The daycare at the center of the operation was run by Gomez's parents and they lived in an adjoining residence. At the time of the warrant execution, Rodriguez and Gomez were allegedly at the home.
Neither of Gomez's parents were charged in connection with alleged operation.
Gomez faces additional criminal charges related to the sale of marijuana and a controlled substance and acting in a manner injurious to a child under the age of 17.
