In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Public Advocate Letitia James, Comptroller Scott Stringer, Councilman Eric Ulrich and Borough President Melinda Katz were all re-elected to four more years in office.

Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley's race is too close to call, with only 133 votes separating her and her opponent. This proves that every vote counts. We will not know the results of this election probably until next week, but we anxiously await the results.

The proposition for a Constitutional Convention was voted down. May we have four years of living in a safe, strong and prosperous New York City, and may Woodhaven continue to work well with our elected officials to our benefit.

It is time to solve the problem of the collapsed building at 78-19 Jamaica Avenue, “Woodhaven's Eyesore." It was nearly demolished in April 2013, but a judge stopped the demolition. In July 2013, the same judge ordered that the owner repair the building. It is now 2017, it is time to “tear it down.”
