Restore the Q74

Dear Editor

In your May 2nd issue, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic announced the restoration of full service on the Q44 and Q46 bus lines.

Why can't Assemblyman Daniel Rosenthal do the same for his district by getting the MTA to revive the Q74 bus line?

It linked Queens College students and Kew Gardens Hills commuters to the Union Turnpike subway station from the 1970s to 2010, when systemwide cuts ended the line.

Queens College runs a shuttle bus for students that is not accessible to disabled riders. And Kew Gardens Hills commuters cope with and overcrowded Q46 buses during rush hour.

NYC Transit boss Andy Byford plans to overhaul the city's entire bus system. Restoring the Q74 would be a good start.

A push from Assemblyman Rosenthal will help achieve that and bolster his 2020 re-election prospects.

Sincerely,

Richard Reif
