David Bowie once said, “Of all the more theatrical rock performers, Freddie [Mercury] took it further than the rest... he took it over the edge. He was definitely a man who could hold an audience in the palm of his hand”.
With the release of the new biopic film, “Bohemian Rhapsody” legendary rock band Queen, has been on everyone’s collective minds. Queen became well known across the world because of Mercury’s flamboyant stage persona and incredible four-octave vocal range.
The music and energy of Queen refuses to dissipate. The leading tribute band, Killer Queen will carry on the spirit of one of the greatest bands of all time at Colden Auditorium on November 17, 2018.
Formed in 1993 by a group of college students who felt as they missed the band’s glory days, the members of Killer Queen wanted to capture Queen’s electric essence.
Today, the group has become the only tribute band that has sold out several of the same venues that Queen played at during their mega-successful career.
The Kupferberg Center for the Arts is proud to present the UK’s finest tribute band with the goal of bridging generations with the music of this timeless band.
For the 2018-2019 season, Kupferberg Center will offer pre-paid parking for selective shows in addition to free parking on campus and on the streets around Colden Auditorium.
The 2018-1019 Season is sponsored by New York Community Bank. Additional programming and support have been provided by Resorts World. Kupferberg Center for the Arts also receives leadership support from The Max and Selma Kupferberg Foundation. Public support provided by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
