Students gathered in the auditorium of PS 160 in Jamaica last week to wait for State Senator James Sanders to deliver new web cameras.

When Principal Tiffany Hicks announced that the truck delivering the webcams had arrived, Sanders himself assisted in unloading the truck and brought the first box of webcams into the auditorium.

“The senator has graciously donated web cameras for ten of the schools in his district,” said Mabel Muniz-Sarduy, superintendent of District 28 “We are so grateful and hope to continue this partnership.”

Sanders plans on distributing webcams to schools based on the number of students within his district, with a goal of distributing 3,000 cameras.

“I want to stimulate ideas and reward the teachers and superintendents.” Sanders said “Too many people are kicking the school system, not enough people are reaching out and asking what can they do to help.”
