The show, which follows in the footsteps of the book by Bobby Goldman, follows a feisty fifty-something whose adventures reveals truths about life, love and sex through a series hilarious events.
Starring Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel, known for her Broadway work in "Honeymoon in Vegas” and “Urinetown,” the audience will see the trials and tribulations of the modern dating scene for widows in their fifties. Opel’s quirky character, Curvy, moves quickly as she delves into the world of internet personal ads and then tries to get through hilarious first dates. She finds herself weighing the pros and cons of married versus unmarried men, and romps her way through it all with humor and perseverance.
The show features a cast of best friends, a dead husband, and a myriad of potential suitors, and it’s up to Curvy to learn the hard way what it means to start life over in the modern, digital age.
Joining Opel is Andrea Bianchi, who is known for her work on “As The World Turns,” Alan Muraoka of “Sesame Street” and “Miss Saigon,” and Christopher Shyer, who starred in Broadway’s “Mamma Mia."
