Dear Editor,

I would like to applaud the NYPD for honoring a teen at a graduation ceremony on August 22. Lesandro Guzman-Feliz was murdered in a case of mistaken identity by members of Trinitarios street gang at a Bronx bodega.

Junior, as he was known to friends, was a member of the NYPD Explorers program, which prepares young people for careers in law enforcement. Junior would have graduated with 250 of his peers this year.

I believe Junior would have served New York City with dedication and pride.

Sincerely,

Frederick R. Bedell Jr.
