Curaleaf, a medical cannabis dispensary, opened its new location at 107-18 70th Road in Forest Hills on Tuesday, July 10. Curaleaf is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of cannabinoid therapies in a compassionate and knowledgeable environment.

However, there is still a huge gap between what candidates know and what the company has to offer. The Curaleaf Queens Team has been holding educational seminars and open houses to provide information and awareness of their medicinal marijuana program to the community.

The comprehensive seminars educate patients on the rules and regulations of the program, state law, qualifying conditions, registration process and extensive medicinal information. The overall goal for Curaleaf is for their patients to strive for a better life and live it well.

“Medical marijuana has already helped tens of thousands of New Yorkers and we are excited to welcome patients to our Forest Hills dispensary to access the treatment they need or learn more about medical marijuana and the state’s program,” said Michelle Bodner, president of PalliaTech NY, which operates the dispensary under the brand name Curaleaf New York. “Our team looks forward to meeting with patients to discuss how medical marijuana can help provide relief from chronic pain and improve their lives.”

There are several products for the delivery methods that Curaleaf administers. Inhalation methods include vaporizers, oral administration include capsules, and topical administration includes lotions.

Kunal Patel, dispensary manager and pharmacist said, “for people with deficiencies, this is a safer and alternative way than pharmaceuticals to maintain a homeostasis balance.”

Curaleaf also emphasizes that their medicinal marijuana program is for all kinds of qualifying patients. They further stated that the diverse patient base is exactly why they chose to open a location in Forest Hills.

In their other two New York locations, in Newburgh and Plattsburgh, the youngest patient is 7 years old and their eldest is 94.

The new dispensary is working to incorporate themselves in the Forest Hills community by being welcoming, transparent and resourceful.

As Becky DeKeuster, director of patient outreach, puts it, “the goal is to provide safe access to the natural medicine in a welcome and professional environment.”

The outreach team has connected with homes, schools, law enforcement, politicians and more to educate the community.

Curaleaf also connects with the community in entertaining ways by hosting events, participating in support walks, holding Massage Mondays, Smoothie Saturdays and are soon making bath bombs.
