Governor Andrew Cuomo's minor improvements in election law are shameful. He just couldn't find the political courage to touch term limits and reduce the number of signatures needed to run for office in New York State.
No Assembly member or State Senator should spend more than eight years in office. And if we reduced the number of signatures required to get on the ballot to run as a Democrat from 1,250 to 250, we'd get much better candidates.
Let's get the hacks out of politics!
